THE NAME GREGORY IS DERIVED FROM THE LATIN GREGORIUS, A COGNATE
OF THE GREEK GREGORIOS (VIGILANT, A WATCHMAN)!

The most timely event in the ancient world was the anointing of the Messiah during the 15th year of Tiberius Caesar. At that time, Joshua of Nazareth became the Messiah, or "Anointed One," when the Holy Spirit descended on him like a DOVE.

And the Holy Spirit descended in bodily form like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven which said, “You are my beloved Son; in you I am well pleased” (Saint Luke 3:22).

In Greek, Messiah is translated as Christós, Christ in English, Christ in French, Cristo in Spanish, Cristo in Italian, etc., etc., etc.

Pope Gregory I is depicted in art
with a dove descending on him!

Pope Gregory I was a perfect counterfeit of the Messiah as he is depicted in art with a dove descending upon him!

Pope Gregory first proposed that the rooster be adopted as a visual aid to commemorate Peter's denial of Christ!

Pope Gregory XIII was the infamous St. Bartholomew's Day Massacre pontiff and the Gregorian calendar is named after him!

Pope Gregory XIII had a DRAGON
on his coat-of-arms!

Pope Gregory urged adaptation of the rooster symbol to commemorates St. Peter's denial of Christ!

Here is a quote from the real Saint Peter, who never once set foot in the city of Roma:

Be sober, be vigilant (Gk. gregorios); because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour (I St. Peter 5:8).

THE FIRST 8 (VIII) POPES NAMED GREGORY
(590–1187).

THE SECOND 8 (VIII) POPES NAMED GREGORY
(1227–1846).

This is a veritable history of the Papacy using one of the most prominent names of the pontiffs from the very beginning of the Papacy.
